Protected by the foothills of the Cévennes, the estate extends over 40 hectares in a preserved natural setting 45 minutes from Montpellier.
The freshness of the surrounding plateaux, a mosaic of terroirs, a variety of grape varieties and meticulous work in the vineyard and cellar create elegant, balanced and complex wines.
The village of Montoulieu is nestled in the heart of a quiet valley at the northern end of the Terrasses du Larzac appellation. Off the beaten track, the estate is situated on the edge of the Massif du Bois de Monnier, a natural ecological zone that is home to remarkable flora and fauna. Between oueds and avens, the garrigue takes on the colours of the African savannah and is a special place for 150 species of birds, including the European bee-eater.
The vineyard extends over 35 hectares. The oldest vines were planted in 1955 and the most recent ones in 2008. The diversity of grape varieties (16 different varieties), soils, exposures and altitudes make each plot unique and requires a tailored viticultural approach to produce the best grapes.
You are welcome at the estate, every day (Sundays by appointment), for a visit of the cellar, a tasting (in English and/or French) or simply to enjoy the setting with a picnic in front of the vines (reserved for our clients). On Thursdays at the end of the day, we also offer an outdoor tasting of our wines and regional products (reservation required). The estate invites young and old alike to discover our vineyard and to learn a little more about working with grapes.
