The megaliths of the Causse de Blandas

A HERITAGE SEVERAL THOUSAND YEARS OLD

Despite its rather hostile appearance, the causse was populated very early on. The first men first occupied the caves in the valleys, then, as soon as they understood where to find water on the plateau, they settled there with their herds.
With the limestone rocks, they made their tools and weapons (many objects are exhibited at the Cévenol Museum in Le Vigan) as well as the megalithic monuments.

They are found in large numbers on the Causse de Blandas: dolmen, menhir and cromlechs
